Nora Cronin Presentation Academy Offers Financial Health Seminar

On Tuesday, February 28th, Nora Cronin Presentation Academy (NCPA) held a financial health seminar for their students in grades five through eight. The intent of the seminar was to educate youths about the basics of money, what a budget is, and best practices for making buying decisions. The seminar was held during the school’s extended day period (3-5pm) which, in addition to providing support for homework, is designated to for practical life teachings that students will benefit from in the real world as they grow and mature.

The financial health seminar titled “Money Management” was presented in partnership with Chase and was taught by Niki Davoll, VP, Community Manager in Orange County. Ms. Davoll is a local ambassador for Chase whose job is to build and nurture relationships with key community leaders, non-profit partners and small businesses at the neighborhood level. She is helping to advance financial literacy in underserved communities with special emphasis on supporting Black and Latinos with tools and resources to help them improve their financial well-being.

NCPA follows the NativityMiguel model of schooling taking a faith based, holistic approach to education. In addition to traditional academics, NCPA addresses the physical, social, emotional, moral, and spiritual needs, and develops growth of the student in all areas. This new financial health seminar is an extension of this holistic approach to education helping to develop a well-rounded student with knowledge inside and outside of the classroom. “We are very happy to partner with Chase and Ms. Davoll to bring our students this financial health seminar. NCPA prides itself on helping develop the whole student. Preparing our students for the real world with practical, everyday teachings is just one of the ways we differentiate our school. This is practical knowledge that will help them for the rest of their lives,” said Dr. Tammy Barnett, Principal of Nora Cronin Presentation Academy.

“I am excited to partner with NCPA and bring my financial health seminar to the students as I believe that learning financial health at a young age helps build fiscal responsibility for life. Further, as a female professional in the financial services industry that has been for years heavily dominated by males, I feel a sense of commitment to being a role model and mentor for young females interested in finance,” said Niki Davoll, VP, Community Manager at Chase.
